Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PATCHES OF GREY (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer T Zackey was advised (PHvdW). b) ERUPT THE DAWN (*D B Geerthsen) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TEO TORRIATTE (R Munger) over-raced in the early stages. b) At approximately the 1300m, HAPPY MO (G Lerena) commenced to over-race resulting in the saddle slipping forward. As a consequence, PLAY WITH FIRE (S Khumalo) was carried out by HAPPY MO (G Lerena), which was directed outwards away from the heels of PATCHES OF GREY (P Mxoli). This action led to HAPPY MO (G Lerena) and PLAY WITH FIRE (S Khumalo) racing wide around the turn and into the straight. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PATCHES OF GREY, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 2 February 2024 to 8 February 2024. PATCHES OF GREY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer T Zackey was advised. d) PATCHES OF GREY (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PARADISE FLOWER was ridden by Jockey K A Brewer (declared 30 January 2024 at 10H32). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) TEO TORRIATTE raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 30 January 2024 at 07H17). b) PLAY WITH FIRE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 31 January 2024 at 13H12). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
