THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROY'S COMMAND (D Daniels) fly jumped leaving the starting stalls, losing 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1000m CANFORD ICE (S Moodley) was momentarily inconvenienced when racing in restricted room between the inside running rail and MOUNT MERU (N Patel) which rolled in and was immediately corrected. b) At approximately the 500m Jockey C Zackey felt something amiss with LASHLAROO and thereafter eased this gelding out of the race. c) In view of the performances of CANFORD ICE (S Moodley), (17.20 lengths and 25/2 in the betting), and MOUNT MERU (N Patel), (16.10 lengths and 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) SUNDANCE KID (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) LASHLAROO raced without blinkers (Advised 07.02.24/07h51). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None.
