THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IT'S UP TO ME (J R Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) THE NAVY LARK (M van Rensburg) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) SOUND MACHINE (P Mxoli) and LADY GREENSLEEVES (*S Sosibo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) QUICK TRIP (K Matsunyane) and EMPRESSOFNORMANDY (C Zackey) over-raced in the early stages. b) Jockey M van Rensburg, the rider of THE NAVY LARK, briefly dropped his right-side rein at the 300m. c) IT'S UP TO ME (J R Syster) tired badly from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SOUND MACHINE (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
