THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ANASA'S BOMB (O Noach) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	HAMPSTEAD HEATH (G Wright) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	ESSENTIAL (C Bantam) cast its left hind shoe prior to leaving the parade ring, which was replaced, causing a delay.
b)	COTONOU (B Fayd'Herbe) proved difficult to settle and raced clear of the field in the early and middle stages.
c)	Approaching the 1200m, ROCKING PEONIE (JP van der Merwe) was bumped outwards by ANASA'S BOMB (O Noach) which, after being slow to begin, pulled hard in the early stages and shifted out on the early part of the turn.
d)	Jockey D Ashby reported that SHOUT AT THE MOON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	QHAWEKAZI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised. (WM)
