THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED MOON RISING (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) NILE THE BOSS dislodged Jockey G Wright while proceeding to the start, bolted the course, was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) BAUBLES AND BEADS (M Mjoka) pulled hard in the early stages. c) RED MOON RISING (JP van der Merwe) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that TICKET TO VEGAS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey R Danielson reported that JAM JAM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey A Domeyer reported that KAMAKAZI took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of WUGUG, weighed back in in excess of 1kg over the weight at which he was weighed out (58.6kgs). h) WUGUG, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
