THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PROTAGONIST (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. b) FUTURE GEM (K Steyn) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start MYSTERY CACHE (S Veale) was bumped heavily by ATLANTIC KING (C Bantam), which shifted out away from FUTURE GEM (K Steyn), which jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. b) JACK IN THE GREEN (L Mxothwa) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. c) MONT LOISIR (R Fourie) shifted out between the 400m and the 300m and had to be straightened. d) Jockey M Mjoka reported that RENOWNED choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) INDECENT PROPOSAL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised.
