THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLY TO RIO (R Danielson) was restless in the stalls. b) KEBONALESEDI (S Veale) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 1200m LOVERS LANE (M Mjoka) commenced to over race and was allowed to race around runners and to the front of the field. b) AGGRESSIVO (L Mxothwa) was hanging out from the 300m. c) At the 100m VERONIQUE (A Andrews) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between LIKETHECLAPPERS (JP van der Merwe), which shifted out marginally and KEBONALESEDI (S Veale), which rolled in. d) In the concluding stages LIKETHECLAPPERS (JP van der Merwe) had to be steadied when tightened for room between KEBONALESEDI (S Veale) and MASTER OF PARIS (A Domeyer), which rolled out and had to be straightened. e) Trainer L Gila was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented LOVERS LANE incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer L Gila signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. f) KEBONALESEDI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
