THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OVER THE MOON (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading. b) WILLIAM'S LEGACY (*KJ Lihaba) jumped inwards. c) JET BUND (C Habib) jumped slow, losing one length. d) ANATOLIAN SILVER (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on DUKE ORSINO (*DB Geerthsen), which raced wide on the turn and into the straight, slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. b) Jockey R Khathi reported that 'O CAPTAIN, which shifted out sharply away from the crop leaving the 500m, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) ANATOLIAN SILVER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
