Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PRINCE OF FIRE (*KJ Lihaba) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	TARANTINO (R Munger) jumped outwards.
c)	INHERIT THE RAIN (R Fourie) and SAFE RETURN (J Gates) jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	KHAYA'S HOPE (C Zackey) and MOUNT ANDERSON (*DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	TARANTINO (R Munger) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler, causing a delay. This gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as he proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
b)	ROSE OF BAYEUX (M van Rensburg) was continually held up for a clear run in the straight and had to be steadied when close to the heels of MHLABENI (K Steyn) leaving the 100m.
c)	PRINCE OF FIRE (*KJ Lihaba) was hanging in in the latter stages.
d)	Jockey D Schwarz reported that PRINCE VIHAAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	LORD VARYS (D Ashby) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders)
f)	MHLABENI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. (LM)
