THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY CANTON (*B Plaatjies) and MYSTIQUE ROUGE (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1500m, BABY ON BOARD (C Zackey) which commenced to over-race, had to switch out to avoid running onto the heels of FAMILY FAVOURITE (T Godden) and CELTIC BEAUTY (M Thackeray). Thereafter C Zackey allowed BABY ON BOARD to improve to a forward position entering the first turn. Jockey C Zackey reported that BABY ON BOARD made an abnormal respiratory noise in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) MASCHERINA (R Fourie) raced around the field to take up a forward position leaving the back straight. c) CELTIC BEAUTY (M Thackeray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
