Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINDS OF CHANGE (M Yeni) and GOLDEN DESTINY (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, HANDSOME PRINCE (D Muscutt) raced tight between ONE STRIPE (B Fayd'Herbe) and WINDS OF CHANGE (M Yeni), which was carried in by ROMAN AGENT (G van Niekerk). b) LION RAMPART (R Fourie) raced awkwardly and got its head up on a number of occasions while attempting to get cover in the early stages. c) Approaching the 300m LITTLE BALLERINA (G Wright), which was improving on the outside of ROMAN AGENT (G van Niekerk), was carried out when ROMAN AGENT (G van Niekerk) shifted out. Thereafter, HANDSOME PRINCE (D Muscutt), which had commenced to give ground, was steadied briefly when awkwardly placed on the outside of LITTLE BALLERINA (G Wright), which continued to shift out away from ROMAN AGENT (G van Niekerk). d) At the 200m SYMPHONY IN WHITE (A Domeyer) and SWEETIE DARLING (P Mxoli) made contact and SYMPHONY IN WHITE (A Domeyer) had to be steadied when close to the heels of LITTLE BALLERINA (G Wright), which continued to shift out away from ROMAN AGENT (G van Niekerk). Jockeys G Wright (LITTLE BALLERINA) and G van Niekerk (ROMAN AGENT) appeared before the Board with regards to these incidents and were advised that the Stewards expect them to take stronger measures to keep their mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. e) ONE STRIPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
