THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GORGEOUS DUDE (*S Hlengwa) was stubborn to load. b) PALERMO (S Veale) was restless in the stalls. Lost 1 length. c) TERIYAKI (J Jacobs) lost 1 length. d) SHINY BOB (C Maujean) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 400m REGINA ARGENTO (*B Plaatjies) was brushed in by TERIYAKI (J Jacobs) which was hanging in from the 400m and was carried in by NOBLE WARRIOR (*K J Lihaba) which rolled in marginally. Thereafter at the 200m TERIYAKI (J Jacobs) was switched in off the heels of MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackeray) to continue its run. b) MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackeray) was hanging out and shifted out in the concluding stages. c) GORGEOUS GUY (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PALERMO raced equipped with Alumites (Advised 22.02.24/21h09). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SHINY BOB: Brush wound right hind. b) MAGMA MAGIC: returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.
