THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MOUNT PILATUS (P Mxoli) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly losing three lengths. Trainer P F Matchett was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TSAR BOMBA (G Lerena) hung in from the 400m to the 200m. b) In view of the performance of MOUNT PILATUS (P Mxoli), (distance 14,00 lengths, betting 4/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Apprentice T Mayhew reported that PROPHET changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) TSAR BOMBA (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
