THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WHITE WATERS (B Fayd'Herbe) was stubborn loading.
b)	MISS ARGONAUT (R Fourie) jumped with its head up and, as a consequence, was slow into stride.
c)	HUNGA TONGA (C Zackey) and GIRL ABOUT TOWN (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 400m FROM A DISTANCE (A Domeyer), which raced green, raced onto the heels of LA VIDA LOCA (A Mgudlwa), had to be steadied for a number of strides and was directed inwards.
b)	TUSCAN ROMANCE (L Mxothwa) was continually held up for a clear run until the 200m.
c)	MISS WORLD (C Orffer), which raced green, rolled out at the 150m and had to be straightened.
d)	Jockey A Andrews reported that WELSH STARLET took no interest in the early stages and he did not  persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	In view of the performance of SORCERESS SUPREME (S Veale), which tired quickly in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	DARK WINTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (WM)
