THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PRAGMATIST (C Zackey) raced detached from the field in the early and middle stages. Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with PRAGMATIST in the running, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) MEXICAN PETE (S Moodley) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) SYX HOTFIX (R A Venniker) over-raced in the early and middle stages proving difficult to assist. d) In view of the performances of PIRATE PRINCE (A Mgudlwa) (7.40 lengths and 10/1 in the betting), and MEXICAN PETE (S Moodley) (8.90 lengths and 7/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) SUNDANCE KID (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
