THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WILLOWCEDE (S Khathi) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) SERENDIPITOUS (*DB Geerthsen) was nervous in the stalls. c) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (KA Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to SERENDIPITOUS (*DB Geerthsen) in stall gate 5, which had jumped smartly, and were satisfied that all stalls had opened simultaneously and took no further action. b) Approaching the 100m ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (KA Brewer), which initially shifted out, shifted in sharply away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) HIDEKI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
