THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HALLERBOS (K Steyn) was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) FUJISAN (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading. c) HONEST QUEST (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing one length. d) MEETATTHEWINDSOR (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MEETATTHEWINDSOR (R Fourie) was hanging in in the straight. b) In view of the performance of PEDRO (R Danielson), which was hanging in from the 300m and proved difficult to assist, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer TJ Laing appeared before the Board and was advised that the racing manners of PEDRO (R Danielson) were not acceptable and she must take all reasonable measures to ensure that this gelding does not shift ground in races in future engagements. c) Leaving the 100m, HEAD GARDENER (M Yeni) rolled out marginally and had to be straightened. d) ELUSIVE JUSTICE (*DB Geerthsen) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended indefinitely from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis) e) HEAD GARDENER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
