Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MC DAZZLER (A Andrews) was restless in the stalls. b) IGUGULETHU (A Domeyer) was restless in the stalls and threw its head down as the start was effected. c) THE US OF A (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m CLIFF SWALLOW (L Mxothwa) was carried outwards, had to steady and thereafter was switched in to continue its run when awkwardly placed on the heels of WISSA'S ON FIRE (C Bantam), which commenced to hang out and shifted outwards. b) Jockey C Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of WISSA'S ON FIRE he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CLIFF SWALLOW approaching the 200m. Jockey C Bantam signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) c) THE US OF A (R Fourie) commenced to hang outwards when under pressure from the 200m. d) WISSA'S ON FIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised.
