THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOREVER MINE (C Habib) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate. b) JOHNNY HERO (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BINGWA (G Lerena) hung in in the concluding stages. b) In view of the performance of QUANTUM THEORY (D Schwarz), (distance 6,50 lengths, betting 7/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey P Strydom reported that EYE OF THE PROPHET took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) TEXAS RED (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (MS).
