THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	STORMY SEAS (R Danielson) was restless in the stalls.
b)	DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (D Schwarz) reared in the stalls.
c)	COVERT OPERATOR (G Lerena) and IN THE ETHER (*T Mayhew) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
d)	ARTICUNO (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
e)	SIBERIAN STEEL (C Habib) and IRON SKY (*N Nastili) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, SIBERIAN STEEL (C Habib) was squeezed out between OUT THE MIST (J Gates) and IN THE ETHER (*T Mayhew), which jumped awkwardly inwards and was carried in by COVERT OPERATOR (G Lerena), which jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls. As a consequence, SIBERIAN STEEL (C Habib) lost momentum and gave ground to the field. Thereafter, SIBERIAN STEEL (C Habib) was directed outwards towards the outside running rail to secure a clear run, this enabled SIBERIAN STEEL (C Habib) to finish its race off strongly.
b)	JASIRI (S Khumalo) hung in from the 300m.	
c)	Approaching the 100m, SAKHALA IS'CATHULO (M Yeni) was brushed by INVENTRIX (C Maujean), which rolled in and was immediately corrected. 
d)	STORMY SEAS (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. 
	Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MduP). 	
	
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	IN THE ETHER: Apprentice T Mayhew weighed out at 54,4kg, only claiming 3kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared.
b)	STORMY SEAS: Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 56,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
