THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HERECOMESTHERAIN (P Mxoli) broke through, was restrained by the Handler, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT). b) MESCAL (*T Mayhew) was slow losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) An inquiry will be opened to establish why CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) had to ease at approximately the 350m. b) An inquiry will be opened into Apprentice K J Lihaba's (ANYTIME CHAMP) riding in the concluding stages of this race. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to HERECOMESTHERAIN, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 20 March 2024 to 26 March 2024. HERECOMESTHERAIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MESCAL, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
