THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAMILY LAW (M Yeni) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. b) HIDEKI (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls, taken out and re-loaded. c) KINGDUNDEE (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length. d) FROSTY RECEPTION (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) AT THE 250m, HIDEKI (R Fourie) was carried in slightly by RAVILIOUS (*T Mayhew), which was hanging in from the 400m. b) Leaving the 200m, PLAY ACT (M van Rensburg) was steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of KINGDUNDEE (C Zackey), which raced green and was hanging out. c) In view of the performance of HIDEKI (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding FAMILY LAW (M Yeni), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 23/03/2024 to 05/04/2024 inclusive). FAMILY LAW may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding HIDEKI (R Fourie), Trainer AC Greeff will be advised to have this colt re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) KINGDUNDEE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
