THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JAPANESE MAPLE (*M K Katjedi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DAMASCODORO (R Danielson), which was difficult in restraint en route to the start, made contact with the inside running rail at approximately the 950m. The track maintenance team were dispatched to the site to secure the rail prior to the commencement of the loading process. b) POLICY OF TRUTH (G Lerena) over-raced early and middle stages. c) DAMASCODORO (R Danielson), after racing prominently up until the 400m, commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. d) SALUTE THE FLAG (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
