THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUSHIMI INARI (P Mxoli) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow, losing one length. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) PRINCESS KESH (*T Mayhew) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m, THE BRIEF (S Khumalo) was brushed by CREPUSCOLO (J Gates), which rolled out marginally and was immediately straightened. b) MARAUDING HORDE (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M F de Kock advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) TO THE RESCUE was ridden by Jockey K Matsunyane (declared 23 March 2024 at 09H38). Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on TO THE RESCUE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer S G Tarry, which necessitated a change of Rider. Jockey G Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
