THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	ETERNAL OPTIMIST (J Solomons) was hanging out from the 300m. 
b)	Jockey A Andrews (CARAMEL FUDGE) dropped his crop at the 250m.
c)	Jockeys A Andrews and C Orffer reported that CARAMEL FUDGE and EXCEEDER respectively took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
d)	Trainer L Gila was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1, in that he declared Jockey X Carstens to ride FASHIONIGMA without having obtained his prior consent. Trainer L Gila signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
e)	Jockey J Solomons was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline L on the use of the crop) in that he struck ETERNAL OPTIMIST on the flank. Jockey J Solomons signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000,00. 
f)	LUCE VERDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (TJ)
