THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRIZED PLATINUM (*B Plaatjies) and DANCING DORA (*K J Lihaba) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) IN THE ETHER (K A Brewer) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice S Sosibo, the rider of LULU'S BOY, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. b) Leaving the 400m, PRIZED PLATINUM (*B Plaatjies), which was directed outwards, shifted out sharply and was corrected. Thereafter, shortly before the finish line. Apprentice B Plaatjies, the rider of PRIZED PLATINUM, briefly dropped his left side rein whilst changing crop hands. c) Apprentice J Botes, the rider of DARK TIDE, rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) SIBERIAN STEEL (*N Nastili), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DANCING DORA: Apprentice K J Lihaba weighed out at 49,9kg, only claiming 1kg of his 1,5kg apprentice allowance.
