THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BATTLE OF KURSK (R Fourie) was stubborn loading. b) TORNADO KING (*T Mayhew) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. c) ELECTRIC STORM (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls. d) LORD CAPULET (*DB Geerthsen) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey reported that MIDNIGHT ADVOCATOR made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) BATTLE OF KURSK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
