THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UNSUNG HERO (S Veale) was restless in the stalls. b) SURGE OF POWER (C Orffer), BOMBER BAY (A Andrews) and EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN (G van Niekerk) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, CUMBRE VIEJA (O Noach) was carried outwards by UNSUNG HERO (S Veale), which shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that BRIGHT FUTURE, which was hanging out from the 400m, choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SURGE OF POWER (C Orffer) was hanging out in the latter stages. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that LORD BYRON did not stride out freely in running.
