THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RIO QUERARI (G van Niekerk) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ELUSIVE WINTER (M Mjoka) was bumped heavily and made contact with DANCE VARIETY (C Orffer) when RIO QUERARI (G van Niekerk) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls and then shifted in sharply. During this incident, Jockey G van Niekerk (RIO QUERARI) briefly dropped his right-side rein. b) Leaving the 600m, TOUGH TERRAIN (J Solomons) and MR COBBS (G Wright) brushed. c) ELUSIVE WINTER (M Mjoka) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
