THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	AMBER SKY (D Daniels) and LADY SUREYYA (*B Plaatjies) lost 1 length.
 
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start AMBER SKY (D Daniels) which jumped out and RADIANT HEAT (M V'Rensburg) which jumped in came together and brushed.
b)	Shortly after the start OCEAN PALACE (G Lerena) took an awkward stride.
c)	Jockey D Daniels reported that AMBER SKY took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	Jockey R Fourie appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the poor performance of TANNEN PRINCESS. Jockey R Fourie explained to the Board that he was instructed to ride this filly in a forward position from a wide draw. After racing prominently in the early stages, Jockey R Fourie found himself being caught wide and without cover in the early and middle stages. Jockey R Fourie explained that these racing tactics adopted today resulted in this filly compounding in the straight. The Board noted Jockey R Fourie's explanation. In view of the performance of TANNEN PRINCESS (R Fourie) (17.30 lengths and 7/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was requested to report back on the condition of this filly on return to stables.
e)	PURPLE FLOWER (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS).
