THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DECO VAR (S Khumalo) and GARDENER'S PRIDE (D Ashby) were stubborn loading. b) SWEET AND TRUE (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, DECO VAR (S Khumalo) and STORMSTRIDE (Y Ramzan) came together and brushed. b) Leaving the 400m, SWEET AND TRUE (L Mxothwa) was tightened for galloping room between GLOBAL STATE (M Yeni), which rolled outwards and CAN'T SAY NO (R Fourie), which was hanging in. c) DECO VAR (S Khumalo) was hanging in from the 250m. d) In the concluding stages, CAN'T SAY NO (R Fourie) shifted in away from the crop. e) GLOBAL STATE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
