THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOMEDAY MAYBE (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PARISIAN WALKWAY (D De Gouveia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) RITIRATA (S Khumalo) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 900m, VIBE SA (C Habib) and CAPTAIN JIM (D Schwarz) came together and brushed. b) RITIRATA (S Khumalo) commenced to give ground to the field from the 500m. c) LETS PLAY POKER (M Yeni) commenced to give ground to the field and was eased out of the race in the concluding stages. Thereafter Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Habib called a race review into an incident that, in his opinion, had occurred shortly after the start. After he had consulted with Trainer A P Peter, he decided to take no further action. e) SO SEDUCTIVE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
