THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IT'S HER WAY (K A Brewer) and YOU BRING ME JOY (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ALMOND SEA (C Habib) and MOUNTAIN HIGH (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ALMOND SEA (C Habib) was brushed in by LITTLE BALLERINA (G Lerena), which was carried by IT'S HER WAY (K A Brewer), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey P Strydom (YOU BRING ME JOY) appeared before the Board and was shown the Patrol film of his riding in the concluding stages. He was advised that while the Stewards considered his report that the filly had shortened its stride and demonstrated a tendency to shift inwards, he is obliged to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race when circumstances permit him to do so. c) LITTLE BALLERINA (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) YOU BRING ME JOY examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) MOUNTAIN HIGH scalp wound left hind.
