THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMERICAN ULTRA (O Noach) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) DECEMBER DAWN (J Solomons) stood, losing many lengths. c) OVER THE ATLANTIC (B Fayd'Herbe) and COLD BREEZE (C Orffer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 600m COLD BREEZE (C Orffer), which raced green, was steadied briefly when close to the heels of VOORSMAAKIE (R Fourie). b) Leaving the 400m DUCHESS OF PALOMA (JP van der Merwe), which raced green, was brushed and then carried inwards by FURIOUS QUEEN (S Veale), which was directed inwards and into clear running. Jockey S Veale appeared before the Board and was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. c) POETIC PRINCESS (A Andrews) and AMERICAN ULTRA (O Noach) raced green. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding DECEMBER DAWN (J Solomons), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 14/04/2024 to 20/04/2024 inclusive). DECEMBER DAWN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) FURIOUS QUEEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
