THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BASIC MANEUVERS (A Domeyer) jumped awkwardly outwards, losing one length. b) LUCY THE PINK (A Andrews) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start PLUM PUDDING (C Orffer) was steadied and taken in behind runners when awkwardly placed on the outside of BASIC MANEUVERS (A Domeyer), which jumped outwards. b) Jockey A Andrews reported that LUCY THE PINK felt uncomfortable in its action, failed to respond to his urgings and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with QUEEN BOMI and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) PLUM PUDDING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
