Race 4: FOR HOSPITALITY BOOKINGS CALL 011 681 1796 MAIDEN PLATE (F & M) (For Maiden F&M. R15 000 Win bonus ROA Members)

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	TWOSTEP QUEEN (J R Syster) was stubborn loading. Trainer S J Gray was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT).
b)	SOMEDAY MAYBE (D Schwarz) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
c)	A TOUCH OF SUGAR (J Greyling) stood, losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer C Mayhew was advised (GT).                

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 150m, BILINGUAL (P Mxoli) was carried outwards by MESSALINA (M van Rensburg), which after being baulked for a clear run on the heels of  a tiring KYLIE'S ANGEL (C Habib), was switched outwards to obtain a clear run. Following this incident, MESSALINA (M van Rensburg) and BILINGUAL (P Mxoli) were carried out slightly when awkwardly placed on the outside of SNEAK PREVIEW (C Zackey), placed second, which shifted outwards. Jockey M van Rensburg called for a race review which was followed by him lodging an objection on behalf of MESSALINA, placed third, against SNEAK PREVIEW (C Zackey), placed second, on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Objection Board, after giving careful consideration to the evidence put forward and giving due regard to the outward movement to obtain clear running by Jockey M van Rensburg (MESSALINA), formed the opinion that the result had not been affected by this incident, and that in any event, MESSALINA had itself contributed to the incident. Therefore it overruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. 
Jockey M van Rensburg's deposit was refunded. 
Jockey C Zackey (SNEAK PREVIEW) and Jockey M van Rensburg (MESSALINA) appeared before the Board and were reminded of their obligation to ensure they are not an influence on other runners in Races and that they are required to take immediate corrective measures when their mounts commence to shift ground in Races.
b)	Jockey	K A Brewer reported that PARTY PUNCH made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
c)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to A TOUCH OF SUGAR, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. 
Suspension dates: 18 April 2024 to 24 April 2024.  A TOUCH OF SUGAR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C Mayhew was advised.	 
d)	HONORABLE MEMBER (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP).
