Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KIMBALL O'HARA (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) TROMPIE (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, KIMBALL O'HARA (C Zackey) cast his left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) ENSUING (B Fayd'Herbe) and TEATRO (A Marcus) raced green. c) In view of the performance of TROMPIE (R Fourie) (Betting 63/100 ; Distance 6.20) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.8 in that as the rider of TROMPIE he did not keep his mount on a straight course parallel to the running rail and relative to the drawn position until a point not less than 200m from the start. Jockey R Fourie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500.00. e) WE'RE JAMMING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised. (JF) f) WECANGOALLNIGHT, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (CvA) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) TROMPIE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
