Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	FLYING BOMB jumped slow, losing one length.
b)	DASHING HOME (M Winnaar) and GARDEN SUN (K Steyn) were slow into stride.
c)	RED DAWN (G Wright) jumped inwards and made contact with the front gates leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 400m CAPTAIN FURY (X Carstens), which raced green, was steadied briefly when awkwardly paced on the outside of MITREDAT (M Mjoka), which raced green and shifted out slightly.
b)	Leaving the 50m JOUEUR DE FLUTE (C Orffer) shifted in when steadied away from the heels of BROOKSIDER (A Arries) and stumbled after clipping the heels of LANDOFTHERISINGSUN (JP van der Merwe), which was initially directed outwards to improve on the outside of KRIM (L Mxothwa) and then commenced to hang out and shifted out slightly. After reviewing the patrol film the Stewards were satisfied that this was a racing incident and took no further action.
c)	POWERANDTHEGLORY (G van Niekerk) raced green.
d)	On his return to the weighing room Jockey G Wright required attention to his left foot and was stood down by the course Medical Officer for Race 2.
e)	KAIBOY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SL)
