THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AND ACTION (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) I BELONG (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, SOVEREIGNS CALL (P Mxoli) was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between ALAKANANI (J R Syster) and WAHEED (R Fourie). b) At approximately the 1000m, WAHEED (R Fourie), which proved difficult to settle, clipped the heels of ALAKANANI (J R Syster). As a consequence, WAHEED (R Fourie) was directed outwards and raced wide around the early part of the turn. c) In the concluding stages, when racing in close proximity AND ACTION (K Matsunyane) and GOLD AGENT (C Zackey), came together and brushed. d) In view of the performance of BAD MEDICINE (G Lerena), (distance 11,15 lengths, betting 4/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) WAHEED (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
