THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLURRED VISION (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) DIWALI ROCKET (S Khumalo) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PANNING GOLD (D Schwarz), after being slow away, raced detached from the field up until the 500m where in response to Jockey D Schwarz's urgings, this colt regained contact with the rest of the field and finished its race off strongly. b) LEGEND OF ARTHUR (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
