THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIFT OF GRACE (M Mjoka) jumped outwards and made contact with BRYDEN BAY (K Steyn). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start BLAME IT ON ME (X Carstens) rolled in and made contact with GOLDEN GREY (A Arries). b) Approaching the 800 GOLDEN GREY (A Arries) commenced to over race and got its head up on a number of occasions. c) GIFT OF GRACE (M Mjoka) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. d) BLAME IT ON ME (X Carstens) was hanging out in the straight. e) TSUNAMI WARNING (C Zackey) and THE NIGHT FERRY (A Andrews) brushed shortly before the finish. f) Jockey A Domeyer reported that TOM'S DINER took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) DEVIL A SAINT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
