a)	Fair start.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Approaching the 1600m LORD FYFIELD (A Andrews), which raced wide without cover on the first turn, was allowed to race round runners and to the front of the field at the 1200m. Thereafter, LORD FYFIELD (A Andrews) was hanging out in the straight.
b)	In view of the performance of OZARK (R Fourie), which raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight and was hanging in from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	MARSHALL FIELD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (SC)
