THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start Apprentice B Plaatjies (ACTION STATIONS) lost his footing to the right-side stirrup iron, which he regained shortly afterwards. b) TEICHMAN (C F Dicken) over-raced in the early stages. c) Approaching the 800m, PIETER BOTH (C Zackey) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of TEATIME TIPPLE (S Veale) which commenced to over-race and rolled out. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that PIETER BOTH took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) At the 200m, CUPID'S SONG (R Fourie) which was hanging in from the 400m, was momentarily inconvenienced off the heels of ACTION STATIONS (*B Plaatjies), which rolled out. e) Jockey M Yeni reported that BEACH PALACE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Trainer M J Odendaal signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.1.1 in that he declared Jockey D Daniels to ride QUICK STAR without having obtained his prior agreement, resulting in a change of rider. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. g) LUCKY DOLLAR (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey M Thackeray was the rider of QUICK STAR (advised 30.04.2024/17h47). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
