Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NAZARE (P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 150m, DANCING DORA (C Maujean) had to steady when awkwardly placed between the inside running rail and EMPRESS GAME (S Khumalo), which had to check to avoid the heels of NAZARE (P Mxoli), which shifted in away from the crop when insufficiently clear. This incident was reviewed by Jockey S Khumalo and Trainer F Bronkhorst and they decided to no further action in this regard. However, Jockey P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of NAZARE, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DANCING DORA (C Maujean) and EMPRESS GAME (S Khumalo) when he shifted in at approximately the 150m. Jockey P Mxoli signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of ten (10) days. Suspension dates: 12 May 2024 to 21 May 2024 (both days inclusive). b) NAZARE (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Ncube, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was advised (MduP). Trainer C Dawson will be questioned regarding the improved performance of NAZARE. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) PRINCE OF KILDARE was ridden by Jockey J Greyling (declared 1 May 2024 at 09H54). b) AFTER HOURS was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 2 May 2024 at 16H08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DANCING DORA mouth injury. b) PRINCE OF KILDARE coughing post race.
