THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SALOON GIRL (O Noach) and SKY DIAMOND (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BE MERRY was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 11h47 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on a race day, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer SJ Snaith was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 11h56 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently BE MERRY was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 12h09, 7/2 in the betting). BE MERRY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised (MB) b) Approaching the 200m Jockey S Veale (KINDA WONDERFUL) briefly dropped his right-side rein. c) At the 100m KINDA WONDERFUL (S Veale), which was hanging out, was directed to the inside of SYMPHONY IN WHITE (A Domeyer), which changed stride awkwardly at the 150m and then commenced to hang out and shifted out. d) In view of the performance of SALOON GIRL (O Noach), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SYMPHONY IN WHITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
