THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GOLD POKER GAME (A Domeyer), MONTELENA (A Arries) and MY FLOWER FATE (C Orffer) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SUMMER LILY was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen analysed at 15h12 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on a race day, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer SJ Snaith was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 15h25 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently SUMMER LILY was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 15h35; 10/1 in the betting). SUMMER LILY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised (MB)
b)	In view of the performance of QUAWEKAZI (JP van der Merwe), which was directed outwards and into clear running at the 400m and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c)	L Mxothwa (PRINCESS IZZY) dropped his crop at the 100m.
d)	At the 50m MONTELENA (A Arries) was steadied briefly and directed inwards when close to the heels of SIDDELEY (R Fourie).
e)	In view of the performance of RED PALACE (A Andrews), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	TIME FOR LOVE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee R Fredericks, acting on behalf of Trainers H Crawford/M Rix, was advised. (SC)
