THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) COUSIN CASEY (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 300m COUSIN CASEY (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily in anticipation of the narrow run between GLADATORIAN (S Veale) and HUMDINGER (J P v'd Merwe) closing. Thereafter, leaving the 200m COUSIN CASEY (S Khumalo) was carried in marginally by GLADATORIAN (S Veale) which shifted in away from the crop and was straightened. As a consequence of this HUMDINGER (J P v'd Merwe) was carried in marginally by COUSIN CASEY (S Khumalo). c) At the 100m Jockey D Daniels (WATERBERRY LANE) accidentally dropped his left-side rein, which he regained shortly thereafter. d) Jockey D Daniels reported that WATERBERRY LANE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ROYAL AUSSIE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
