THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BUSH TRACKER (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	MHLABENI (D Schwarz) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
c)	GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie), MOUNT ANDERSON (*N Nastili) and CRIMSON PRINCESS (K Minnie) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	GLOBAL ALLY (X Ndlovu) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight and thereafter was hanging in in the latter stages.
b)	Jockey D Schwarz reported that MHLABENI did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	In view of the performance of KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (S Khumalo), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey S Naidoo reported that YOU KNOW WHO took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey K Minnie reported that he felt something amiss with CRIMSON PRINCESS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
f)	Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of GRAZINGINTHEGRASS he misused his crop by striking GRAZINGINTHEGRASS more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R3 000,00. 
g)	CHERRY ANO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
