Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	GROOVEJET (S Veale) and GARDEN SUN (K Steyn) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Racing into the turn at the 1200m GROOVEJET (S Veale), which after being slow to begin, had to be ridden along in the early stages to hold its position, had to be checked, losing position when tightened for galloping room between the inside running rail and NORDIC PRINCE (M Mjoka), which raced green and shifted in. The Stewards, in assessing this incident, were satisfied that Jockey M Mjoka had made every effort to direct his mount outwards to avoid his mount shifting inwards and took no further action. 
b)	Jockey A Andrews reported that BEER WITH THE BOYS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.	
c)	PRINCE OF TIBET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised. (WM)
