THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WINDRUNNER (A Andrews) and LE LEGIONNAIRE (M Winnaar) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, BIG UNIT (L Mxothwa) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	Shortly after the start, NEVADA KING (D Schwarz) rolled out and was brushed on the hindquarters by LE LEGIONNAIRE (M Winnaar).	
c)	At the 300m BIG UNIT (L Mxothwa) was momentarily held up for a clear run behind HOLDING THUMBS (A Arries) and was directed outwards.
d)	In view of the performance of NEVADA KING (D Schwarz), which raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey A Domeyer reported that KITCHAKAL took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
f)	BARDOLINO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Donnelly, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised. (WM)
